Jonathan Product Finish Control Hairspray
Hairspray sure has come a long way since my 6th grade obsession with AquaNet. No longer sticky glue, the new generation of flexible hold aerosols keep your style an all-day event while still looking natural.
Jonathan Product Finish Control High Shine Flexible Hairspray, created by celebrity and reality-show stylist Jonathan Antin, is no exception. It packs a powerful punch, even with its 100% vegan label. Tested on celebrities, not animals, this hairspray does more for your hair than hold your style, it also nourishes and strengthens your hair with essential water, almond protein, and natural botanicals.
After using it for a few weeks, I do appreciate its flake-free, all-day hold. Plus, it’s easy to brush out and wash out of the hair. I haven’t noticed any build-up, which is a big deal since most hairsprays require an industrial-strength clarifying shampoo to remove the goo. And despite continuous coloring, my hair is staying pretty healthy (which probably has more to do with my shampoo and conditioner than my hairspray, but at least it’s not drying it out like some other hairsprays do).
However, it is suprisingly wet for an aerosol. Holding the can farther away tends to help and then letting it dry before you mess with it ensures you don’t end up with crunchy spots. Remember, a little goes a long way.
Overall, I was pleased. If you’re going to use hairspray, a choice like this one is at least better for your hair (and our furry friends) than some of the other salon-quality products. Available for purchase at jonathanproduct.com
