Ecco Bella Cruelty Free Ecco Mists

I love all cruelty-free companies, but I ESPECIALLY love the ones that publicize their cruelty-free ways on their website, marketing materials and packaging. I think some companies are afraid to make that claim in a public way because they are afraid they will slip up, use an ingredient from a supplier that tests on animals, and then boom – they lose the consumers’ trust and maybe even have a lawsuit on their hands. While I can sympathize with the need to CYA (cover your ass), a little research into your suppliers, and perhaps a signed statement, is all you need.

Natural Air-Fresheners

So, when I see companies like Ecco Bella who shout it from the rooftops, I get really excited! Almost all of their products are vegan too (except for a few lip products that contain carmine and/or beeswax). This is their policy on animal testing (from their FAQ):

“Animal testing is unacceptable to Ecco Bella in any form because it is cruel and provides unreliable results. It is not required by law. We test our products on ourselves and we use ingredients that have been in use for years and are considered safe. Unfortunately, many ingredients have been tested on animals by manufacturers years ago. We are unable to control the testing of ingredients, but we do oppose testing of any materials on animals and ask our suppliers not to test. Currently there are alternatives to animal tests that use cell membranes and computer modeling to determine safety.”

I recently tried Ecco Bella’s Ecco Mist, a natural air freshener. It comes in Citrus, Lavender and Summer Fruit scents. I tried the Summer Fruit, which smells wonderful. Definitely better for your kitchen or living room. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my bathroom to smell like food of any kind! I would save the lavender for that one.

The mists are made from essential oils, emulsifier and water – nothing else! No artificial fragrances, so they are safe for your family. The bottles are a pretty good size and made from recyclable aluminum. The cost is only $8.95 – not bad at all!

Plus, the Summer Fruit version has a cute bunny on it. What else do you really need in life? Learn more about natural skin care and other cruelty-free Ecco Bella products at www.eccobella.com.
