Twisted Sista is a line from London-based brand Urban Therapy. Urban Therapy is a unique company in that they target the millions of multi-ethnic women (mixed, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, etc.) who have special hair care needs.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m picky about what I use on my hair. Since it’s naturally very curly and dries out really easily, I normally only use salon-brand products on it. When I first tried Twisted Sista De-frizz shampoo and conditioner I wasn’t sure how well it was going to work. On the positive side, it smells yummy, sort of like honeydew melon or kiwi fruit and the scent is really important to me too. The shampoo cleaned well and didn’t strip my hair which is very important.
The conditioner didn’t feel as slick as a lot of conditioners; I’m not sure if that’s because it doesn’t have silicone like many of them do but I was afraid it wasn’t going to leave my hair as moisturized as I need it to be. Luckily I needn’t have been worried at all. As it promised, my hair was moisturized, easy to manage and was not frizzy. Both the shampoo and conditioner also have UV filters to protect my hair from the elements. I was very happy with the results of both shampoo and conditioner and would recommend them to any women who, like me, have hair that is multi-cultural and normally difficult to manage.
