Plant-Based Organic Skincare That REALLY Works

Botanic Organic Natural Skincare Review

Botanic-OrganicMy Beauty Bunny Press Sample

There seems to be a new line of “natural skincare” popping up every week but to find one that is organic and that makes a positive difference in the tone, texture and appearance of skin is often a rarity. I was asked to try a selection of products from the Botanic Organic for a few weeks and am happy to report, they are incredible.

I grew up with oily skin and as I aged it turned into combination skin and nowadays, I am entering the dry skin phase. I am constantly switching up my skincare regimen to accommodate for the changes. The great news with Botanic Organic is that because of the organic-compound enriched oils, butters, hydrosols and plant extracts used in the naturally balanced line, every product works on every skin type. The line is handcrafted with nutrient-rich, plant-based ingredients and I experimented with a number of their skin pleasing favorites.

Honey & Licorice Root Daily Cleansing Grains
When I was young my dad was a painter. I remember him trying to remove the paint from his hands using rough chemical cleaners. His go-to product was a powdery household favorite that you rarely see available in stores anymore due to the alarming amount of toxins. Thank goodness we have evolved and there are natural plant-based options available. This non-toxic, natural, and preservative-free mask gently cleanses and repairs skin. I am a fan of licorice and the scent of this product is absolutely delightful.

To Use: Simply shake a dime-sized amount into the palm and add enough water to form a paste. Gently massage on face and neck and rinse with warm water. Leaves skin soft, moisturized, and protected.

Cucumber & Calendula Nutrient Mist
Even though we wear sunscreen sometimes skin still suffers from a little too much time in the sun. This antioxidant-rich mist soothes and refreshes irritated skin and provides the nutrients necessary to promote firmness.

To Use: With eyes closed, gently spray directly onto skin after cleansing, while it is still slightly moist. Allow skin to dry completely before adding serum and/or moisturizer. It is also a great soother for bug bites and other skin irritations including rashes, acne, and rosacea.

Pomegranate & Argan Antioxidant Serum
Oxidation is the main culprit for premature aging. There really is no way to avoid it and that is why it is so important to protect skin against it. This rapidly absorbing serum contains pomegranate, Argan and pumpkin oils that all help neutralize the damaging free radicals.

To Use: Apply one pump of serum to cleansed face while it is still moist. Follow with moisturizer and sunscreen for daytime use and follow with night cream for use during the evening. Recommended for use 1x or 2x daily.

Raspberry & Green Tea Daily Defense Moisturizer
Most moisturizers tend to clog pores and defeat the purpose. This vitamin and antioxidant rich treatment is light and effortlessly glides onto skin without leaving behind any residue. It also contains 11% non-nano particle zinc oxide, which helps create a barrier against harmful UVA/UVB rays.

To Use: Apply to skin after cleansing, toning and after serum. When using as a sun protector, it is recommended to reapply every 2 hours and following swimming or strenuous exercise.

Overall, I am very happy with Botanic Organic. The cleansers clean without stripping the skin of natural oils; the hydrating mists help to balance pH levels; the serums nourish deep into the underlying tissues and the moisturizes go to work day and night to hydrate, protect, and repair.

Its really nice to see tips like these, organic based treatment. I personally love, and i’m greateful to live in Brazil where we have a lot of options. The sad part is that all the good reviews, like yours, cant be found here =/

Great Review Roxanne! My skin has always been dry. There are a few skin care brands I like but finding organic, natural skincare that lives up to the hype is difficult. I’m going to check out Botanic Skincare. The Honey & Licorice Root Daily Cleansing Grains sounds wonderful! (Right up my alley!)

I love these products (so does my skin!!). One that isn’t mentioned here that I use is the Calendula Blossom & Rose Night Cream which sometimes, I use alone, and sometimes, depending on how my skin is at the moment, I’ll add some of the Antioxidant Serum to the nightcream. I will also use the nightcream in the morning before makeup but I always add a spray or two of the Cucumber & Calendula Nutrient Mist. What I love is that I just mix and match the products depending on how my skin is at the moment since any skin type can use all the products. Since I don’t like to use chemicals on my face, I like the physical sunscreen this line has, which is the Daily Defense. Yum, they smell so good too you might just want to eat them!!

I truly love this product. I’ve been using it for almost two years now! I can feel great about the way my skin looks, as well as the low environmental impact these products have. Did I mention, they smell AMAZING! If you’re looking to start using the products, I would start with the Raspberry & Green Tea Daily Defense. I have yet to get a sunburn while wearing it, even when hiking and playing in the water. Although, it does not claim to be water resistant/proof, so reapply during the day to be safe. http://botanicorganic.com/products/defense

The world is going organic on a lot of things including skin care. Use cosmetics only when you absolutely need them. For general skin care and maintenance, it is better to use natural oils like avocado oil, lemon oil, or rose Bulgarian oil. They are gentle on your skin and won’t cause any adverse reaction unless you are sensitive to avocado or lemon, which is very rare.
