Cruelty-Free Lists
We all want to buy cruelty-free beauty products, but many times the problem is that we don’t have time to do research on brands before buying. We hope this list will help guide you in the right direction.
One issue with finding truly cruelty-free brands is that brands can call themselves “cruelty-free” if they do not test their finished products on animals, but they can still buy ingredients from suppliers who are conducting animal tests. (There are no regulations for using the term “cruelty-free” like there are with “USDA Organic” labels. So, buyer beware.)
At My Beauty Bunny, our personal feelings are that an ingredient should not be banned from use by animal activists just because it was tested on animals in the past. However, if a supplier is currently conducting animal tests, we hope beauty brands will boycott the supplier.
We have done our best to include only companies that are completely cruelty-free, but it is impossible to know if brands are really purchasing ingredients from cruelty-free suppliers, or if the suppliers are being up-front with the brands. As with everything else, it is always wise to do your own research.
This is not an exhaustive list of cruelty-free beauty and household goods brands–it’s a list of companies we love and recommend. If you’d like to be added to the list, and your products and ingredients are not tested on animals, drop us a line at info@mybeautybunny.com.
We’re working on finding more great cruelty-free drugstore brands, so if you have a favorite, please let us know!
