Cruelty Free Holiday Gift Guide

Cruelty free gift guide

So, it’s the holiday season again, and you’re ready to start shopping. Spread your holiday cheer and keep the bunnies happy by buying cruelty-free beauty products for your loved ones! Here are some ideas to get you started.

$25 or Less:

Beau Bain Bath Bombs

I always hate buying just one bath bomb, because my neurotic Jerry Seinfeld-esque personality always make me think I’ll use it on the wrong day and I won’t get the maximum relaxation/soothing/calming/happy-happy benefits.

Well, how about SIX or TWELVE mini bath bombs then? Beau Bain has great-smelling bath bombs – the lavender & black amber scent is to die for – and they come in gorgeous, apothecary-like packaging, so they look great on your bathroom shelf. A great gift at $15 for 6 or $30 for 12 petite bath bombs.

Korres Eyes Value Gift Set

This is a great value! You get five of Korres easy-to-use eyeliners – in black, metallic brown, green, gray and blue, plus black mascara. A $90 value for $25 – nice!

Plus, you can get 30% off, a free mini lip gloss and free shipping (orders over $35), when you use code BUNNY. It expires 12/31/09. I think I’ll have to use this code too!

Best Bath Store Dead Sea Bath Salts

Dead Sea salts have high mineral content to draw out impurities and increase blood circulation. Put a few tablespoons of these cruelty free bath salts in your hot, steamy bath and say ahhhhhh! ($14.95)

You can also add a large Dead Sea Bath Bomb for $6.95. Here’s a quick tip – when you use bath bombs that have loose ingredients (like herbs or flower petals), just wrap the bath bombs in cheesecloth or a nylon stocking to keep the bits out of your tub drain!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

This stuff is a freakin’ miracle. I have always had problems with creasing. Are my eyelids super greasy or something? I have no idea. Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion has been one of the best products I’ve ever purchased. It keeps creasing at bay and makes your eyeshadow stand out.

The only issue I have is that the makeup becomes slightly harder to blend because it stays where you put it. If you do it right the first time, this isn’t really a big deal, and to make your eyeshadow last ALL day – it’s totally worth it. I like the newest “Sin” champagne-colored version because it doubles as a base color. It’s just $17 at Beauty.com.

$50 or Less:

Talika The Beauty of Your Eyes Kit

This is a great deal! The Lipocils product by Talika has been getting a lot of buzz in the beauty industry – it gives you longer, more conditioned lashes in 28 days! It goes on clear, so you can use it morning and night, and it doesn’t sting or burn like other lash products I have tried.

The lash conditioning cleanser is also great – great for sensitive eyes or contact wearers (like myself) and not oily at all. You can use it for regular or waterproof eye makeup.

The kit also comes with Eye Decompress – a tablet that you dissolve and use as an eye mask, and an Eye Therapy Patch to lessen dark circles and reduce wrinkles and puffiness. The kit is $48 at Beauty.com.

Dr. Hauschka Eyeshadow Palette

Did you know Dr. Hauschka made color cosmetics? I thought they only did skincare, but they have a makeup line that also has skin-loving ingredients. I tried their Stone Colours Collection Eyeshadow Palette and I was blown away by how silky-smooth the shadows were. I’ve never tried anything like it.

I like the neutral, non-sparkly colors because I can wear them everyday. The shadows also smell like roses! It’s a faint scent, but so nice. All essential oils, black tea extract, witch hazel and natural minerals – no artificial fragrances or anything like that. This is Dr. Hauschka we’re talking about! You can get it for $44.95 at Beauty.com.

$100 or Less:

Emani V-Series Brushes

Now this is an awesome gift – a set of vegan makeup brushes – cruelty-free, synthetic – no animal hair! They are actually softer than regular animal hair brushes, and the bristles don’t fall out like all the (cruelty-free) animal versions I’ve tried. There are no dyes, and each bristle is tipped to give greater precision. The set comes with a mineral foundation brush, a shadow blender, a contour brush, a brow/eye liner brush and a lip brush. The brushes come in a handy carrying case that velcros shut for easy packing and carrying.

Chella Exfoliation & Detoxification Mask Combo

I love, love, love these facial masks. Chella’s Balancing Clay Mask is better than your usual clay mask because it doesn’t dry out your skin. It’s got kaolin and hectorite clay to suck out impurities and gunk from your skin, but it’s also got horse chestnut, licorice, grape seed extract, green tea, calendula, aloe, and a ton of other soothing and balancing skin ingredients.

Chella Enzyme Exfoliating Crema Mask has lactic acid and sugar cane to remove dead skin cells and gently exfoliate your skin. It’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin, yet still effective. After I use them, my skin feels soft and smooth. Highly recommended! ($105 for both)

Sircuit Skin Youth Accelerator Pumpkin Enzyme Peel

Sircuit Skin has some great cult-faves that would make great gifts. Youth Accelerator is a 100% natural pumpkin wine enzyme peel.

The facial mask has antioxidant properties to minimize free radical damage and pumpkin enzymes to remove dead skin cells and clear pores. It also has cinnamon and clove oils, so your face will smell like a pumpkin pie. Tell your friends not to eat it though! A truly luxurious gift! ($75)

Best Bath Store Gift Sets

Deluxe Signature Facial Treatment

This is one gift set I’d like to get! Best Bath Store sells handmade, cruelty-free, natural skincare products.

This deluxe set includes: Acne Treatment Gel, Shea Butter Face & Body Lotion, Acne Facial Bar, Pore Refining Facial Toner, and Dead Sea Mud Mask. ($89.95)

DeStress and Detoxify Therapy Kit

The holidays can be stressful. This would be a great holiday gift for your favorite hostess with the mostest…even if that’s yourself!

The gift set includes: Detox Bath Salts, Vanilla Bean Body Bar, Pore Refining Facial Mask and Shea Butter Face and Body Lotion. ($59.95)
