Eva Longoria without makeup

I keep hearing that today is “No Makeup Day.” I love makeup, but just a few years ago, I hardly ever wore anything other than a tinted moisturizer. Now I rarely go out of the house without it. Is it a symbiotic or parasitic relationship? Or an addiction? Not sure, but I am going to show you a pic of myself with no makeup – after the jump.

My skin has been a major jerk lately, so the idea of going out with no makeup on scares me. BUT, I have recently been experimenting with facial self-tanner and now I’m not nearly as freaked out by the idea of being caught in the daylight with no foundation or concealer. Self-tanner can even out your skintone. The trick is to apply it all over and then wet a q-tip to remove tanner from dark spots or areas of hyperpigmentation.

I’m really loving Beautisol “Need I Glow More?” facial self-tanner because it’s made for normal to oily skin. I do smell the DHA (the tanning agent), but the scent is so much better than other self-tanners out there. There is also a version for dry skin. I prefer tanners that have a guide color, like this one, so you can see where you’re putting the tanner. It’s very light and washes off in the morning. The color is super-natural looking, and buildable so you can get a deeper tan if you use it more often.
