NOTE: I have just been informed that Revlon is NOT cruelty free. They conduct 3rd party testing and are now on PETA’s DO TEST list.
I bet there are a lot of guys who clicked on this link and are now very disappointed. Sorry guys – we’re talking nude lipstick here.
I am a big fan of the smoky eye/nude lip combo (a la Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian). You really have to go heavy on the eye makeup when you rock a nude lip or you’ll just look washed out. Some of the shades pictured here are going to be nudes for those with darker skin, and more pink for those with lighter skin (like myself). So, I can wear the top 2 darker shades as everyday lipstick without looking washed out. I wear the others with a smoky eye.
I have full lips and a round face – and I have a theory. The same way nude shoes with bare legs and a skirt can make your legs look longer, nude lipstick can make your face look thinner. It basically draws the eye away from the roundness of my chin and puts the spotlight on my eyes. My lips are fairly dark, so a nude lipstick makes them blend in with my skintone and create a longer, thinner face shape. I also use a bronzer to contour my cheeks and jawline and I’m good to go!
Here are the same shades, but in direct sunlight:
