I’m so loving the nude nail polish trend that we have been seeing on the runways for New York Fashion Week ’11! I’m also digging the industrial grays, browns, greens and other atypical nail polish colors. It can be subtle or edgy, or even both at the same time, and it’s an editorial look that you can actually pull off.
Cruelty-free nail polish brand, OPI was all over the runways! BCBG MAX AZRIA models wore OPI Nail Lacquer in Samoan Sand, a warm beige with pink undertones, while Hérve Léger models wore the clay-hued San Tan-tonio.
Models for Rebecca Taylor wore two shades from OPI’s Texas Collection. Suzi Loves Cowboys (on fingertips) and San Tan-tonio (on toes).
Charlotte Ronson also used OPI to complement her edgy clothing, with models wearing Samoan Sand during the show on February 12. Front-row admirers included Olivia Munn, Sophia Bush, Mena Suvari, and Kim Kardashian.
“OPI was thrilled to walk the runway with so many fabulous designers for New York Fashion Week/Fall 2011,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “As seen by the color selection and overwhelming preference for a neutral palette, nude nails will remain a huge trend throughout the rest of the year. Beige, tan, honey, chocolate, and even grey give fingertips a chic, minimalist look – matching fashions of the same hues or providing a base for brighter, patterned clothing.”
Here’s me wearing San Tan-tonio and Suzi Loves Cowboys. I did it myself, so pardon the not-so-professional manicure. What do you think?
