I’m so excited to be doing this review here for Jen at My Beauty Bunny. I will be reviewing a Jumbo Lip Pencil from NYX. Known for being an amazing, affordable, cruelty-free brand, they always come out with stellar products. They are by far my all time favorite brand – I never get disappointed with a purchase from them.

What NYX Says:

The shade that I will be reviewing today is in 722 Hera. It’s a bright sparkly fuchsia pink with a blue undertone.

Application:

Applying the Jumbo Lip Pencil is a breeze! The consistency is very creamy and smooth so you don’t need to tug on your lips. I can get a nice precise application since the size of the tip can easily line your lips. The shade Hera is really opaque in just one swipe.

Packaging:

The product comes in a jumbo pencil. These are normally easy to sharpen but since the product is super creamy, the tip kept getting knocked off so you have to be careful to sharpen these. I find that if I stick it in the fridge for a few minutes it becomes stiff which makes it easy to sharpen.

My Experience:

The NYX Jumbo Lip Pencils is a great concept – a 2 in 1 lip liner and lipstick. I love wearing this on its own without a gloss since it gives a nice sheen to the lips and the texture feels smooth. It’s easy to apply since the tip is a good size for the lips. It glides on smoothly for an opaque coverage. I do have a few issues with the shade I picked out, since it has some glitter particles it makes this uncomfortable to wear after about an hour since the glitter feels rough on the lips. This lip color also doesn’t wear long at all! Without a lip liner or lip primer this wore for about 2 hours. Since it’s such a creamy consistency, it doesn’t leave a stain of any sort. It just slides off the lips. I would definitely prefer to pick up a different shade from this line that doesn’t have any glitter.

Overall: Great concept but the shade Hera is not that impressive.
