I just had my makeup done (for New Year’s Eve) at Blushington. Similar to next-door neighbor, Dry Bar, which just offers blow-outs, Blushington does makeup application – for only $35! (They actually do brow/lip waxing and eyelash tinting/extensions too.) You can also get just the eyes done for $25. So inexpensive! Okay, so yes, I ended up buying some Becca cosmetics there, but no one had a gun to my head. It’s not hard to sell me makeup. Just say, “We have makeup,” and I’m sold. I digress.
The gal who did my makeup, Jessica, and I bonded over our Southern roots (macaroni and cheese is TOTALLY a vegetable). All the ladies there look totally glam, so I felt a little awkward walking in with no makeup, but hey – that’s what they do – make you beautiful. I opted for the “Smoke and Mirrors” look – a smoky eye and a nude lip. Jessica went with a bronze smoky eye, which I absolutely love.
I had long faux lashes applied too. She used the individual lashes, not the strip that I use when I do it at home and it feels SO much better. I keep forgetting they are there. Normally I reserve fake lashes for nights when I’ll be imbibing and won’t care about the annoying pull of the eyelashes. I’m going to have to start trying these instead.
All of the makeup they use is cruelty free. Jessica used Stila and Becca on me. The Becca concealer is pretty amazing. They are one of only a couple of places that sell Becca products in LA.
The place is gorgeous too – all pinky-peach tones and girly wonderfulness. Even the teacup they gave me for a cuppa matched the decor. I felt totally pampered.
If you live in LA and want to get your makeup done before a party or night out on the town, I totally recommend Blushington. And the price is amazing – just $35!

Apparently there is free parking in the back (see the website for a map), but I didn’t figure that out, so I parked across the street in a pay lot. Free parking in this part of town is a big deal!
