Super Skincare Review

Dr. Nicholas Perricone has come out with a new cruelty free line of skincare called SUPER. These products all use “superfoods” to bring out the best in your skin.

1. Detox Elixir ($30)

The Detox Elixir is a mist that you can use anytime to freshen up and give your skin a boost while closing up your pores (great for combo to oily skin). The magic ingredient here is sulforaphane, an ingredient found in watercress. Sulforaphane contains nutrients to help detox your skin. I don’t love the scent of this one – it smells like it’s good for you. I do like the ingredients and the fine mist spray (surprisingly not all companies get this right).

2. Sun Kissed ($42)

Sun Kissed is a tinted moisturizer with SPF 25. The superfood in this product is turmeric, a spice that gives you a natural glow AND chemical-free protection from the sun. Great for summer when less foundation is more!

3. Hyper Hydrator ($40)

Hyper Hydrator is a great moisturizer for all skin types. It’s made with coconut oil to hydrate and nourish skin, but it’s not at all greasy (like pure coconut oil), so it’s great for normal to oily skin (like mine). It won’t make you break out, but manages to keep your skin from drying out – pretty great stuff!

4. Night Recharge (comes in a set of 3 products for $85)

Night Recharge is a retinol-based night cream that contains red algae (astaxanthin) to help maintain skin elasticity and reduces/prevents wrinkles. It’s not oil-based, so great for combination to oily skin, and it smells WONDERFUL – like lemon sugar candy! I’m a fan!
