You already know how much Jen and I love both animals and beauty products–that is, of course, why My Beauty Bunny exists today. Not only do we proudly feature cruelty-free news and reviews, we’re also glad to focus our attention on other acts of kindness, as well.  Our furry & four-legged friends are worth it!

What can you do to help?  Don’t think you’re hands are figuratively tied if you’re on a tight budget: check out the refresh project; it won’t cost you a cent to get involved.  Instead, your vote helps determine which causes/charities receive a grant from Pepsi–and you can even vote for multiple projects.  Based upon what I’ve seen thus far, animal advocacy appears to be quite popular; one of the June recipients was San Antonio’s Paws Ranch rescue & animal sanctuary.  This no-kill shelter was awarded $25,000–all because concerned voters like yourselves, dear readers, made it happen!

In case you were wondering how I learned about the Refresh Project, I actually have my current job to thank: part of my grant/non-profit research had led me to this “refreshing” site (for the record, I still prefer the taste of Coke–I always have).  Still, I must give Pepsi kudos for its generous support of an obviously great cause….

The texture is really nice – super thick, but not greasy and absorbs really well. I also like the no-waste pump container. You get every last bit. Kim Kardashian's Long Eyelashes

Want ridiculously long lashes like Kim Kardashian?

Well, that might not be possible without eyelash extensions or falsies (which I suspect she wears), but you can definitely grow your lashes with lash lengtheners like Talika Cosmetics Lipocils Expert.

Many of you have read the Talika Lipocils reviews and so far, most of them have been very positive. Lipocils (original formulation launched in 1948) is a product designed to condition and grow your lashes, make them darker and increase eyelash curl in as little as 28 days. Unlike Latisse (a prescription product), Talika will not irritate your eyes, cause pupils to change color, make your lashes fall out, or darken the skin around your eyes. I wear contacts have sensitive skin, and I had absolutely no irritation when using Talika (unlike other products I have tried).

Talika Cosmetics has just launched the new Lipocils Expert, which comes with a double-applicator. You use the sponge tip to apply the clear gel to the base of your eyes, along the top and bottom lash lines. Then, use the mascara-like wand to coat your lashes. Use it twice a day for 28 days and then apply once a day.

The ingredients nourish your lashes and the skin around your eyes using natural ingredients like nettle, witch hazel, apple, polymers, silk proteins, lecithin, St. John’s Wort, lactic acid, allantoin, and coleus forskohlii (an Ayurvedic herb from the mint family). The product also protects your eyelashes from UV rays with baobab leaf and sour orange extract.

An independent team of dermatologists at Hopitaux de Paris, France, conducted clinical testing with the following results:

• Growth: average length increase of 36%.

• Color intensifying effect: average color intensification of 50% (up to 100% improvement on blond and light brown lashes)

• Average increase in lash curve: 50%

I tried Talika’s Lipocils Expert for 30 days, and I was very impressed with the results. I actually saw results in just a few days (even though it takes 28 days for full results)! I put it on my left eye only (so I could compare), and I did notice that the lashes seemed thicker and darker. I can’t say I noticed much curl though. In fact, they were actually less curly because the lashes were longer (and weighed more). But, when I used an eyelash curler…wow! The bottom lashes were also much longer. I tried my best to put the product on my eyelashes morning and night, but I can’t say I stuck to that every day. I still noticed results and I imagine they would be even better if I had been religious about putting it on twice a day. All in all, I highly recommend this cruelty-free product.
