Tarte’s Lifted eye primer contains ginseng, gotu kola, purslane and GABA to tighten the eyelid and skin around your eyes, while relaxing the facial muscles.

It tightens and brightens the eye area, but best of all it locks your eyeshadow in place all day. I use it above and below my eyes and it helps both my eyeshadow and concealer stay in place. Remember, you may have to blend your eyeshadow more than usual because it really locks it in place.

It’s cruelty-free of course and the package is biodegradable.

This is a great product – I highly recommend it.

My eyes. The dark circles and puffiness make me look like I’ve never had a good night’s sleep. And although I only have a few fine lines, I want to make sure I don’t get any more. So, I’m always on the search for an effective eye cream.

The ones I’ve found in the past always seem to be good at moisturizing, but they don’t do much else. So, when my friend recommended HydroPeptide Anti-Wrinkle Dark Circle Concentrate, I thought it would be another cream with big promises but no results. Lucky for me, I was wrong.

I’ve been using the eye cream for six weeks now, and I’m really pleased with the results. My dark circles are definitely less noticeable. I can actually leave the house without concealer!

The cream has an iridescent appearance from pearl powder and mica, which act as light reflectors and instantly improve the appearance of dark circles.Vitamin K works to improve blood clotting, which prevents the capillary leakage that leads to darkness under the eyes.

This cream works great on puffiness too. By using it at night, I wake up with less puffiness. When I apply it in the morning it takes care of the remaining puffiness quickly. This improvement is the result of dipeptide-2, which improves drainage under the eyes and reduces bags. There are also a few other anti-inflammatory ingredients that reduce swelling.

The eye cream is thicker than others I’ve tried. It’s really concentrated, so a little goes a long way. It feels cool on the skin and moisturizes without feeling greasy at all. It contains two ingredients that draw moisture into the skin, sodium hyaluronate and glucosmaine HCL. These help the skin to stay moist and plump. It also contains Squalane, a moisturizer that smooths away roughness and keeps skin soft.

And those fine lines? Well, they’re gone. Argireline reduces muscle contractions and wrinkle depth, Dermaxyl and Matrixyl 3000 help repair damaged skin, improving collagen and elastin, which results in smoother skin.

Looks like I’ve finally found an eye cream I’ll stick with. Here’s to younger eyes!

Well, something in them IS working!

Yesterday I received a wonderful compliment on my skin. Sitting next to my mother at lunch, she commented that my skin looked so smooth with no visible pores (leave it to your mother to give you all the details). I don’t think I’ve been complimented on my skin in my whole life.

You’re supposed to use the products twice a day, however I find that my silicone-based foundation makes the products rub off in the daytime, so I only use them at night. Still, I’ve gotten great results.

I’ve also tried the Talika hand ritual kit. This kit includes a sugar and salt exfoliator with vitamin C and apricot kernel oil and a skin serum with seaweed extract and orange oil. These products are supposed to smooth, brighten age spots, and protect your skin. I really didn’t expect much. My hands aren’t rough and I didn’t see the need to exfoliate.

I was pleasantly surprised to find my hands really looked and felt better after using them… much smoother and softer. I really liked that the exfoliating scrub completely dissolved (some products leave grit behind).

We’ve all had rough nights that may or may not have involved the following: adult beverages, uncomfortable heels, yelling over loud music, eating crappy food and staying up until the crack of dawn.

I myself, have never stooped to such shenanigans, but I’ve heard about others who do. Okay, who am I kidding – I’m hungover right now. At least none of my crazy nights have involved a tiger or Mike Tyson. Anyway, here’s how you can deal with the morning after Post-Party Syndrome (PPS for short).

Dehydration and Low Blood Sugar

First things first. Drink as much water as you can. It’s better to sip slowly over a long period of time than to gulp it down like you did with those Patron shots last night. Most of the pain of a hangover is due to dehydration. I would avoid coffee and large doses of caffeine. But, if you’re like me and you know you’ll get a caffeine withdrawal headache, then go ahead and drink some green tea or a soda, but make sure you have food in your stomach to avoid getting nauseous.

Second, pop some B vitamins – a complete B-complex is good. That will help replace the B vitamins you lost from all the sweaty dancing and drinking.

Third, get yourself some hash browns. Or pancakes. Or whatever makes you feel better and goes easy on your tummy. (If you’re still a bit tipsy or out of it – don’t drive – order in.)

Of course, everyone has their own “I swear by it and my grandma swears by it” hangover cure. Click here for some more good hangover cures.

Dry Skin

Time for some TLC for your body. Your skin is most likely dehydrated, so try a deep conditioning facial oil like Patyka Huile Absolue Organic Serum.

Patyka’s serum has my favorite facial oil, rose hip seed oil, along with olive oil, vitamin E and other oils that will nourish your skin without making it break out. You can also use it on your hair and nails.

Puffy Eyes

Try Skin 2 Skin Anti-Aging Revitalizing Eye Gel. It’s a cooling gel that reduces puffiness and gives your delicate eye area some much needed antioxidants. It has so many good-for-you ingredients, that I can’t list them all. Here are a few: arnica, white tea, green tea, comfrey leaf, rose hip seed, cucumber fruit, aloe, noni juice and more.

Evil Stepsister Feet

If you crammed your feet into some too-small Louboutins that you borrowed from your sister, and then proceeded to dance all night, and then walk several blocks back to your car (at a parking lot you paid 20 bucks to park in), then you know what “evil stepsister feet” are.

I am one of those people who can often be seen hobbling home after a night out. I have found a great way to repair my poor tootsies. Shea Terra’s Certified Organic Shea Butter. This 100% shea butter stuff is great. It’s got the consistency of cupcake frosting until you rub it together in your hands – then it turns into an oil. Rub it on your feet before you go to bed, and you’ll wake up with much happier feet and fewer blisters.

Disclosure - Oh, by the way, I’m not a doctor. So, if you’re really sick, get yourself to the emergency room.

Notes from the Mature Bunny (aka Jen’s mom!):

Sampar

My mature skin (which used to be an oil slick) now needs moisturizing every day. I tried Sampar Ultra Hydrating Fluid which claims to have aromatherapy, hydrating, and skin protection benefits. It contains white lupin – a wildflower extract that is supposed to renew the protective barrier of your skin. It has a nice scent and absorbs well. It also has a cooling effect probably because it contains a mint extract.

I’ve also tried Sampar’s Splendid Eyes Elation (this is a French company which may explain the over-the-top name). This product is supposed to solve all the eye area problems I have – wrinkles, bags, puffiness, discoloration, etc. It is a transparent gel that has a cooling and tightening effect. I’ll let you know later about long-term results of these products.

Another problem for Mature Bunnies – your eyelashes fall out! I didn’t expect this one. I always had full and long lashes, but now they’ve almost disappeared. I tried Mindy Shear Mascara and Lash Builder. They come with big brushes and what looks like a gloppy formula. But I found that they go on without clumps and do thicken and lengthen the lashes I have left. Much better than the drugstore brands I have tried.

And while we’re on this subject, guess what else Mature Bunnies are missing…eyebrows! They either turn white or fall out altogether. The Mindy Shear Brush On Brow product is a dark powder (I’m using black, but they also have brown) that I use sparingly.

It comes with a stiff little brush that you’d think would not work, but it’s exactly the kind of brush you need for this job. The powder stays on all day and so far I haven’t rubbed it off.
