Ask anyone who knows me: I don’t use liquid foundation. Usually I find it makes my skin feel oily or heavy, not to mention the “mask” look some people get when they fail to blend in their foundation properly. Yuck. I am, for the most part, an au naturale girl.
I usually go for the “wash n’ go” look, so when our fearless leader, Jennifer, asked if I could try Tarte’s Smooth Operator foundation I almost turned her down. I’m glad I didn’t. This foundation is very natural and feels weightless.
The foundation is oil-free and is chock full of good-for-your-skin, natural ingredients like: apple extract (anti-inflammatory and soothing), camellia tea extract (astringent to reduce puffiness), chamomile (anti-inflammatory), ginkgo biloba (anti-aging antioxidant), ginseng (promotes cell metabolism), sodium hyaluronate (moisturizing, helps fill in fine lines), lemon & orange (antispetic & astringent), Vitamins A, C and E, and mineral pigments.
It is also enriched with SPF 20, so there’s no need to slop on any sunscreen. I found that the foundation blended into my skin nicely and stayed above my horrid crows feet wrinkles. I would use this product again…and again. It comes in 11 different shades, and I think it’s a good buy if you’re looking for a natural look that feels clean.
